NEWS FLASH 3 // National Cowgirl Museum To Honor Mollie Stevenson
 

Mollie Stevenson, Jr., carried herself with the elegance of a model and the wisdom of an old ranch hand when  she  was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas. Stevenson, Jr., 62, was honoredby the museum in 2001 for  her  work in educating the public about the important roles of multicultural settlers in Western history and her  families own ranching legacy.  She  founded the American Cowboy Museum on  her  family's Texas ranch to highlight the role of blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans, and women in the West.

NEWS FLASH 4 // Western Heritage Museum's 44th Western Heritage Awards

Mollie Stevenson Jr., Texas rancher, cowgirl and historian will be honored with the prestigious Chester A. Reynolds Award during the National Cowboy amp, Western Heritage Museum's 44th Western Heritage Awards in Oklahoma City. Reynolds founded the National Cowboy Museum in 1955 to honor the American Cowboy and pioneers who settled the West.The black-tie event took place April 16, 2005, in the Museum's magnificent Sam Noble Special Events Center.Stevenson will share the evening limelight with winners in 13 categories of literature, film, television and music, as well as inductees into the Hall of Great Westerners and Hall of Great Western Performers.

NEWS FLASH 5 // Mollie and Little Mollie inducted into the Hall of Fame in Fort Worth

November 15, 2001 -- As anticipation surrounding the opening of the new National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth increases, five new members were inducted into its Hall of Fame on Nov. 9. Three of the inductees were present at the 26th annual luncheon; Carol Rose of Gainesville, Texas; and the mother-/daughter team of Mollie Stevenson, Sr. and Mollie Stevenson, Jr. of Houston.

 

Stevenson, Sr. addressed the crowd following the video presentation. "I just want to thank my family," she said. "I am so happy to be here and I thank everyone that had anything to do with this nomination."
